Standard:
Most web
sites have at least 3 Main pages: Home
(index) plus 2 - 3 pages containing information
essential to client needs such as an About
or Product page. Pages may include text,
graphics, links, video, or animation. Images
may be supplied by the client or can be made
to order. Standard cost start
at $100 per page and goes
up from there.
However, the home page may be more, depending on the format. Standard images may include company logo,
rollover image displaying a product or product
line, navigation system (links)
and backgrounds.
Page Sizes:
Main Pages: Most pages are Main or (full) pages that contain sufficient text and graphics and incorporate the full design and layout (html or css).
Mini
or Sub Pages: These
pages are
Extensions of Main pages and are less in
size and scope. They usually display less
text or contain only an image or audio clip.
A "browser window" (pop-up) may
also be under this heading, (to enlarge an
image). Mini pages or sub pages do not need
the full feel of design/layout, though they
should maintain some consistency, such as
color and fonts. These pages cost less
than standard pages and
range from $25 to $50 per page.
Extras:
Opening/ Intro
Page: A page of animation which opens to the
Home page is considered extra. Price may vary depending on the complexity. Pages containing
frame sets, (2 to 3 frames) forms, radio buttons, drop
down menus, sound, slide shows, video clip, heavy graphics, web photo
albums, more than two rollovers, or added animation are considered extra and will add to the cost of the overall site. Interactive
images working with sound and animation are considered
extra.
Graphics may include homemade navbars, buttons,
backgrounds, or images with animation. Clients may supply
their own graphics, including a logo or artwork as long
as they are in the correct format; i.e., such as jpgs
or gifs, anything that can be scanned or downloaded.
A wide variety of clip art is available.
All
Sites Include:
Domain Name (URL) if one does
not exist. Page titles, descriptions, keywords will be included in
the code for Search Engine capabilities. And optimization on the home page (text) is also a plus for the best search engine results. For more info
on services see Hosting & Domain Names below.
Payment:
A third of the payment is
expected when work begins, (once an overall plan and
structure has been worked out and agreed upon). The second third is
due when the project is about halfway completed and
the client views and accepts the progress. The balance
is due on completion. A contract is also necessary when an agreed upon plan is underway.
Hosting Services & Domain Names:
If
the client does not have an existing URL, one will be
supplied with the cost of a standard page. Clients are
responsible for their own monthly or yearly fees regarding
hosing space and domain names. These are separate costs,
though we will handle the set up, if preferred.
Maintenance:
Updating pages whether it
be weekly, monthly, quarterly, or otherwise, is based
mainly on content such as text and graphics. The
fee for standard updates is set at about $25 per page, but may be less depending client needs. Updating
is needed when information changes in order to keep
a site current.
Extras (such as animation) are set accordingly, depending
on client needs.
Editing and proofing pages of text is necessary and
is considered part of the standard cost, however, heavy
editing or actual writing of content is considered additional
work and will be based on the number of pages and work
involved. Prices start at $10.00 per page for extra editing
and writing.
