About
WebCreations Design:
WebCreations
Design got it's start after I designed my first web site, Sour
Grapes Newsletter,
a publication for writers, poets, and artists.
As writer I naturally fell into other
areas of literature and creativity.
So, along with fellow writer,
artist, and friend, Sheila
Foley, Sour Grapes
was born in 1995. It
was a print publication
for the first two years before
going over completely to
the web format. In the early
days I used Netscape's
Composer and got my feet
wet in web design. I was
instantly hooked and
knew I would have to move
on to more professional
web programs soon, but
due to time constraints
and publication deadlines,
that didn't happened until
2001 when I signed up for
web design courses at a
local computer training
center. Suffice it to say
SG served as a learning
vehicle. The newsletter
had a 9 -year run with
7 years on the Internet.
In its hey-day
it was an extensive site
and
had a web-zine feel to it
with lots of cool, interacting
graphics and information.
It was a lot of work and
a lot of fun, but unfortunately
the fun had to end as I was
starting to do web sites
for friends and had a few
paying customers as well.
Sadly, SG folded in 2004,
but it gave me my start.
Some of the fun things we
did with SG, like the Halloween
graphics along with spooky
sound files, and other fun
projects, can be found under
the Sample Sites and Links
below. They are now part
of my portfolio, of which
I am continuing to build. You
can also visit a new

Experience:
After completing my initial training in
2001 I still consider myself mainly
a designer (front end) but recently I've
been delving into the development end
more, signing up for
video training on various programs and coding
on the www.lynda.com site.
Here, I pursued my quest for CSS (cascading
style sheets) and other tutorials for design
and development.
As a freelance web designer, WebCreations
Design is geared towards building solid,
affordable, and functional web sites.
Many of my clients are freelance artists, so
my area of expertise is in serving people in
the arts, like writers, photographers, and
artists. But I also cater to the needs of the
small business owner. I design with the client
in mind, so feel free to look over the links
you see here, and if you have a question on
a subject you don't see listed on this site,
then please send me an e-mail.
